最近,河南省唐河县一位女幼师嘴对嘴亲吻男童的视频火了。这位幼师也如她所愿出名了,只是出的是恶名,还受到了开除处分。案件还在调查中。
A video clip showing a female kindergarten teacher engaging in a mouth-to-mouth kiss with a boy student recently went viral on social networking sites. “What if I want to break the law? I am his girlfriend and can wait for 10 years,” the teacher posted along with the video, triggering fierce discussions and an investigation in Tanghe county of Henan province.
On Saturday, the authorities announced that the teacher, surnamed Wen, had been expelled as her action was unbecoming of a teacher. The kindergarten where she taught, too, has been shut down pending corrective action.
Earlier, thepaper.cn quoted the local police as saying that the teacher’s deeds do not make her suspicious of molesting, and further probe is under way. Many readers left comments online saying that, whatever the case, the fact is that even male children can be victims of sexual harassment.
However, one should be careful when using the term, which refers to a bad sexual deed against someone who is averse to it. Though it does not specify the sufferer’s gender, they are almost always females. However, that does not exclude males, particularly juveniles, who are too weak to protest.
Besides, kissing a kindergartener mouth-to-mouth is not how an adult shows care. The action has sexual overtones and clearly the boy had an unhappy expression on his face. There are many other instances of adults touching a child “out of care”, but clear distinctions exist to tell when such “care” amounts to molestation.
To ensure there is no recurrence of the Tanghe incident, schools must tell teachers about the dos and don’ts when interacting with children.
Even more important, parents must tell their children, boys as well as girls, about good and bad touch and encourage them to speak out when they feel uncomfortable in somebody’s company.
